Applicability
The applicability section defines the operational contexts in which lnkpt is intended to operate. lnkpt is a domain‑independent container substrate designed to host certified connectors across enterprise, public‑sector, regulated, hybrid, and standalone environments without imposing assumptions about connector logic or external systems.
Domain Independence
lnkpt does not assume any specific domain, industry, or policy model. Connectors may be designed for:
- Enterprise systems
- Public‑sector services
- Regulated environments
- Internal data platforms
- Specialised or proprietary APIs
This domain‑independent design allows lnkpt to support a wide range of connector products.
Standalone Deployment
lnkpt may be deployed as a standalone container to host a single connector or a small number of dedicated endpoints. This allows organisations to introduce new API surfaces without modifying existing infrastructure or disrupting established systems. In this mode, lnkpt functions as a clean, isolated environment that keeps connector logic separate from the organisation’s core services.
Standalone deployment is particularly useful when integrating retention servers, audit feeds, or regulated service connections into environments that require minimal change. Because lnkpt imposes no domain‑specific assumptions and requires no restructuring of existing systems, it can be adopted incrementally and with low operational overhead.
Enterprise Environments
lnkpt is suitable for enterprise deployments where connectors expose APIs for internal systems, data services, or operational platforms. Enterprises may use connectors to integrate retention servers, audit systems, or other internal services without altering existing infrastructure.
Public‑Sector and Regulated Environments
lnkpt supports connectors that interact with regulated or public‑sector services, including .gov endpoints, compliance platforms, or evidence‑retention systems. lnkpt does not impose regulatory requirements; it provides the stable environment required for connectors to meet their own obligations.
Mixed and Hybrid Environments
Many deployments involve a combination of enterprise, public‑sector, and regulated systems. lnkpt is designed to operate consistently across hybrid environments, allowing connectors to interact with multiple external systems without requiring substrate‑level customisation.
Connector‑Defined Behaviour
Applicability is determined by the connector, not by lnkpt. Connectors define:
- The APIs they expose
- The systems they interact with
- The evidence they produce (if any)
- The environments they support
lnkpt provides the container substrate in which these behaviours operate consistently.
Limitations
lnkpt does not:
- Interpret connector logic
- Enforce domain‑specific policy
- Validate external systems
- Provide governance or certification
These responsibilities belong to the connector and its certification process.
